Reading Journals

After the conference on Monday, my teammate and I decided to have our students work on Reading Journals. They read silently for approximately 30 minutes. After they read, they write a summary about what they read in their journal. I give those that want to the opportunity to tell the class about their story. When a student finishes a book, I will have them give the class a "grade" for their book. I believe this way the students are encouraging each other to read.

Thanks for all the bothersome
Thanks for all the bothersome attempts over the years. It was everlastingly a collectible creation having you blog. It is captivating to transport one's self into the intention of the bypast, to see how a wise guy has thought before us, and to what grand highness we have at last reached. Best of luck in your new enterprise if you’ll have a short of of conception,

"One of the greatest gifts adults can give to their offspring and to society is to read to children."
— Carl Sagan

I think that is a good idea, but I think that the students would learn more when they actually pay attention.
